Despite an increase in the level of sexual violence against women and men (2), most women do not understand or appreciate this fact because of their alienation from authority and are afraid they will be threatened with being bullied (3). There is a growing demand for a greater level of understanding of women’s powerlessness by leaders of those affected by this transformation. But, first, we must ask ourselves whether our leaders are protecting this freedom or are they, at least, holding those inside important space that could benefit from better education, education of women, and other support initiatives. And, lastly, are our leaders standing up to what their fathers, mothers and workmates asked them to do: keep their wives, girlfriends and children safe and out of harm’s way in the future? Social movements have initiated projects to get at this problem. We recommend a network of six research groups, my company local government and corporate partners, to contribute, beginning with communities of great need and building on a program that they have conceived and implemented in their own communities.
